Reservoir Engineer

Ian has over 11 years of oil and gas experience and joined the Split Rock team in 2022.  

Before joining SRR, Ian served in various operations and reservoir roles at Merit Energy in Dallas, TX where he focused on production optimization, planning, and reservoir modeling.

Prior to Merit, Ian served as a reservoir engineer at Marathon Oil in Houston, TX. There, he worked to optimize development of Marathon’s Eagle Ford and Wyoming assets. He additionally held various roles in data analytics and business development. 

Ian started his career at Nexen Petroleum in Plano, TX where he served as an analyst in information technology.

Ian has a BS in Physics and Math from the University of Virginia and an MS in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M.
